John Graupera, Chair
Welcome to
the Lancaster City Democratic Committee's Official Website! We hope
that you will enjoy our site and that it encourages you to
contribute to the committee's growth. Contact us if you wish to
learn more about our organization.
We are a dynamic
organization consisting of Democrats of all backgrounds and
viewpoints looking to make a difference in Lancaster City. We are
open, inclusive, accessible and principle-based. We are committed to
following a lawful, democratic process to excite and engage all
citizens.
We envision a
Democratic Committee that seeks and embraces broad community and
workforce input to formulate its platform. We work to make our
Democratic Party a strong and inspirational voice to communicate our
message of expectation and empowerment. We strive to align our
values and beliefs with our actions.
As Chairman, I
hope to continue the influential work of our past leadership. They,
with the commitment of our members, have expanded the role and
importance of our organization in the community. Our success will be
measured by our ability to attract a vast number of women and men to
serve the Democratic Party’s ideals and to recruit, elect and
support good leaders to govern and guide us - today and tomorrow.

Interested in being a Lancaster City Committee
Person?
Kendra Saunders, Vice-Chair
Committee persons are the backbone of
the Democratic Party. Two committee persons are elected from each
precinct to serve four-year terms. They are responsible for
registering voters in their precinct, circulating nominating
petitions, distributing campaign materials, and getting out the
Democratic vote on Election Day. They also help to recruit and
nominate Democrats for local office.
To run as a
committee person for the primarily of 2010, candidates must
circulate a nominating petition beginning February 16th, get at
least ten signatures from registered Democrats in your precinct, and
file the nomination petition by March 9th at the Lancaster County
Board of Elections (150 N Queen St). For more information, please
contact Vice-Chair of the City Democrats Kendra Saunders by
email or
717-201-1161.
