Inaugural
Ceremony
Supporters filled Council Chambers to watch Rick Gray, be sworn in
for his second term as Mayor of the City of Lancaster. Mayor Gray
then administered the oath of office to Treasurer Cheryl
Holland-Jones, Controller Bill Andrews, returning Council members
Louise B. Williams, Jose Urdaneta, and Tim Roschel. In addition,
the incumbents were joined by new Council member Todd E. Smith.
Kendra Saunders attended her last Council meeting and thanked the
crowd for their support during her tenure. Having chosen not to run
for re-election Council woman Saunders worked to insure the election
of Todd Smith and the Democratic ticket. In addition, she has
assumed the role as Vice-Chair of the Lancaster City Democratic
Committee.
City Council adjourned following the Swearing-in Ceremony and then
re-adjourned with its new member. The new Council, in their first
action, unanimously re-elected Council woman Williams as Council
President.
