Tony
Crocamo
leads the Finance Committee with his winning Fueling Victory fundraiser.
This is an ongoing letter and phone call fundraiser with calls being made
every Thursday (except the 4th Thursday of each month) from
Headquarters at 53 N. Duke St., 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Tony and the call team
welcome new volunteer help & ideas. Come out on Thursday nights and join the
team. Contact Tony to help with raising funds.
JoAnn
Hentz
coordinates our annual Events from season to season. The mid-winter
Endorsement Convention, the Spring Awards Banquet, the summer Corn Roast,
the Fall Banquet, and the holiday Wreath Sale are all organized under JoAnn
and her team of volunteers. New volunteers are always appreciated for the
new ideas you bring to the events. If you enjoy creating the party, this is
the team you want to be on. Contact JoAnn to help with the events.
Paul
Hentz
and Jerome Hodos drive the
Issues Committee. Awareness and education are the keys that lead to action
and legislation. They organize study groups, forums, and open doors for
legislative action. Marcellus Shale, Labor, Education, Health, Women’s
Issues, the Human Relations Commission, LGBT, Farming, and Conservation are
some of the topics they have explored and acted on this year. The strength
of this committee lies in the volunteers’ commitments, research, and
dedication. Contact Paul or Jerome to get involved.
Lynn
Miller,
as Organization Committee Chair, is focusing on Columbia and Donegal, two
districts where we need leadership and active committee people. Lynn is also
involved with new committee person training in the Underground. Anyone,
particularly from the Columbia and Donegal areas, is encouraged to contact
Lynn to get involved. We have temporary leadership but much work to do to
get these two Democratically-strong areas up to the promise they hold for
our county. Contact Lynn to help.
Leo
Noble,
Facilities Committee Chair, maintains & organizes the Underground meeting
room at Headquarters. Help is always needed with cleaning & touch-up
painting. Inventorying our storage items will need some assistance this
year, too. If this is your kind of work, contact Leo.
Greg
Paulson,
at the helm of the Campaign Committee, recruits & trains candidates, defines
their responsibilities and those of their team members, & assists with
trainings for Election Day workers, especially greeters & poll watchers. He
is always looking for candidates for future elections! Contact him if this
aspect of Party work appeals to you.
Ken
Ralph,
the Communications & Information Technology Chair, maintains our data,
responds to committee person requests for voter lists, trains us in the use
of VoteBuilder, helps with computer questions, writes sample precinct
newsletters, and is the editor of this newsletter,
Common Ground. He always needs volunteers with computer
skills.
All of the LCDC
Subcommittee Chairs listed above are conscious of your busy schedules. They
have important jobs for you that will only take a few hours a year. Some may
require only an hour or two a month. They are all happy to welcome & train
new volunteers to work with them on large or small tasks.
Remember, it takes a
village . . . and you’re part of the village!
Please contact any of the above chairs or call
Tracey Lynn Arriola or
Sally Lyall at Headquarters, (717)
299-5701, to inquire more about volunteer opportunities. We look forward to
hearing from you!
Jerrod “Rizzo” Mertz,
County Resource Coordinator
