Program Description
Arguing politics often results in less agreement, more anger, and less understanding.
This happens with neighbors, spouses, co-workers, friends, relatives, and just about anybody.
Dysfunctional agrueing happens with most any topic or issue, not just politics.
Want to learn more effective approaches to talking to those with whom you disagree?
In this LCDC sponsored Free 1.5 hour workshop, psychologist Kenneth Ralph, Ph.D., will guide participants through the “Farmer Brown” exercises in which everyone will experience
* the pitfalls of arguing and
* the benefits of honest, respectful engagement
* key skills to enhance discussions and avoid fights
The approach and skills Dr. Ralph presents will help participants engage voters in ways that establishes positive respect and enhances the possibility for agreement.
The workshop could also help marriages, friendships, and other relationships.
LCDC hopes that this program will provide a positive, constructive contribution to political discussions in our community.
