Fellow Democrats,
As you are aware, new cases of COVID-19 have dramatically increased across the country, largely fueled by the Delta variant of the virus and vaccine hesitancy among the community. Sadly, Lancaster County is not bucking this trend, as case rates here continue to increase week over week.
In the interest of public safety, and to lead by example, all LCDC meetings, events, or any other gatherings are to be conducted virtually. This directive is in effect immediately for all levels of LCDC, including districts, subcommittees, caucuses, and the executive leadership; and will remain in effect until further notice.
LCDC remains committed to providing the tools necessary to continue our vital work while also balancing the critical collective effort we need to fight COVID-19. If you are in need of tools to enable your virtual meetings (Zoom, electronic voting, etc.) please contact the Communications Committee chair.
I understand that this setback is disappointing, but we all must do what we need to slow the spread of COVID-19. If you are not already, I urge you to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Visit vaccines.gov to find a location near you.
In solidarity,
Diane Topakian
Chair, Lancaster County Democrats
