LCDC Endorsement Convention
The Lancaster County Democratic Committee
will convene its annual Endorsement Convention on Saturday, January
28, 2012, at The Country Barn, 211 S. Donerville Road, Lancaster.

Late Wednesday afternoon, by a 4-3 vote,
the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justices invalidated a controversial
plan to redraw district lines for seats in the State House and State
Senate, calling the redistricting approach "contrary to law". The
justices have sent the plan back to the Legislative Reapportionment
Commission.
We will be returning to our 2001 State
House & State Senate district boundaries.
Take note: the dates for petition signing
have also been moved from January 26th to February 16th.

dated January 24 or January 25, 2012, shall be deemed valid as to
timeliness, subject, however, to any other statutory challenge.

PA students are required to attend
school till the age of 17. DC and 15 states have set their dropout
age at 18. In the 2009-10 school year, 1.5% or 12,662 PA students
dropped out with 57% being male.

Say NO to privatizing state Liquor Stores

There has been a recent rash of erroneous
letters advocating privatization of the State liquor stores. They have
been filled with fallacies. In a time of screaming conservatism, why
would you want to liberalize availability of alcohol to minors? State
store workers don’t sell to kids.
