Welcome to the Lancaster County Democratic Committee! This organization and its officers represent the more than 100,000 registered Democrats across the county and the values that thousands more Lancastrians share, regardless of party. Those values — justice, equity, inclusion, and integrity — have been the foundation of communities here for centuries. As we turn the corner into a new era for the Democratic Party in the county, we have to put our people first. With thousands of working families counting on us to do right by them, it’s time to start competing at our weight class.
LCDC has come right up to the edge of the kind of success that transforms entire communities, and we’re ready to take the next step. We will be equipped with the best tools available to us, but we must be defined by the compassion and solidarity that drove movements like civil rights, organized labor, and women’s suffrage.
Every family deserves a living wage. Every family deserves healthcare. Every family deserves a decent education, an environment in which they can thrive, a safe home, and a bright future. As a labor organizer, I know that our party is only as strong as our people. Our purpose is to secure the rights and welfare of every Lancaster County family. With each race we contest and each issue we advance, we are defending those families.
We are committed to electing Democratic candidates in every part of Lancaster County, not just the races considered winnable. We have to transition away from scarcity and gatekeeping mindsets, because real success — real transformation — is achieved over the length of a movement, not just the length of an election. Working together, we can see Democrats elected at all levels of the ballot, from the races for the President to our County Commissioner, State House, and Borough Council.
I do this work to ensure a better future for my children and grandchildren. Every Democrat in Lancaster County has someone they are fighting for. As the Lancaster County Democratic Committee, it’s our job to have their back.
In solidarity,
Diane Topakian
